Da Rules and Some Tips
Transportation
Fun and information provided, and now it's time to get down to the seriousness.

That being...Da Rules.

Addendum 6-17-2007:

There are a couple things we want to emphasize first:

1) We understand enthusiasm, but we do want to make one thing clear.

We are not going to allow cosplay (people dressing as characters from the show).

Danny Tshirts and things like that that you have made are OK...

But NO costumes please.

We want to be taken serisously. Don't wear a business suit or anything. Dress comfortablely. But costumes do not give the impression we are trying to make.

2) This rally is intended for fans of Danny Phantom who love the character and the show, and respect the show and its creators.

If you are involved with anything that embarrasses the show, insults Butch Hartman, or is in any way illegal or unethical, especially involving minors, you will be not be permitted to attend this event. We know the Internet can be a scary place, and since we are adverting this event here, we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our attendees. We always have a strong police presence at the rally, and registration will also be checked against driver's license numbers so that the coordinators will have a record and that people are who they say they are. We will not hesitate to remove anyone we feel is a threat to the safety of our kids or a danger to the security or positive mission of the function.

We respect everyone's right to free speech, but this is not the place for deviant or subversive followers of the series.

Thanks for understanding. If you truly wish to support the show and its producer, please consider doing so in a way that does not hurt the image of either.

I shall now turn the procedings over to Ghostwriter56, who has codified some general rules (and a few tips) for us.

DA RULES!!!

Ok gang, it’s time to start thinking about the Rally again! Seems like we just put all our rally stuff away and now we gotta drag it all out again! But what a great cause and what a great time we had last year in NYC.

The best part is that YOU can be a part of this!

Last year went off with few problems, but a few minor glitches did happen, so to help that from not happening again, we’re going to change a few things.

1. I’ve decided to lower the attendee age with adult from 21 to 18.…Eighteen is the legal age in most states these days. But if you're under eighteen, a parent or guardian MUST attend.

2. We have a registration form that needs to be filled out. It’s just way too hard to keep track of on line registration. This form will have to be signed by and adult/guardian also.

3. If you are NOT registered with Ghostwriter56, you will NOT be allowed to attend the Rally! If you show up and you’re not registered you WILL be asked to leave. Due to a problem last year, I have to put my foot down firm on this. The ONLY exception I will make is if you are with and adult or you can identify yourself as a member of the DPOF or BHOF. This is a Rally for Butch’s fans, those of us who love his work and support him 100%. Remember, we are representing the Best of the fandom here….we want Butch to be proud of his fans!

4. Another bug from last year, and this is for the parents out there, the organizers of this Rally in no way condone bad or bratty behavior of our members. I had a mom contact me last year complaining that because her daughter couldn’t come she refused to do her homework and chores. Gang, let me say that this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! If your parents say you can’t come, then suck it up and deal with it, ok? I wish every member could come, but if you can’t act grown up about it, please? It’s not a cheap trip, to be sure! I only live 300 miles away and I have to save up for months…this is my vacation trip for the year! New York is a great city, not as scary as some portray it to be. I’ve been several times and have always had a wonderful time! We also have parents who came last year , every one of them had a great time! If any parent out there would like to talk to any of these folks, please contact me and I’ll put you in touch. Again, we are not inciting your kids to riot and will not condone their bad behavior…so you guys who can’t go, just “Chill In” as Vlad would say!

5. Hotels….you’re on your own this year! So far the Milford Plaza has the best rates going. That’s where we stayed last year, not my favorite place but it’s clean and cheap!

The closest hotel to Viacom is the Marriott Marquis, which is a bit more expensive.

The Marriott only allows 3 people per room….The Milford you can have 4.

The Milford Plaza is NOT the greatest hotel by a long shot, it’s a 2.5 star, but it is clean and the staff is super nice and Very helpful! That more than makes up from the cramp quarters…well, cramp if you’re sharing a room with Zcat’s sis and Z’s DP Museum!!!!! That is my job!

6. We will be at the same location as last year, corner of 45th and Broadway, right in front of the Viacom entry! I will be handling all logistics with the NYPD as last year. We do call and let them know we are coming, it’s a courtesy to the police and shows we are a good group!

So, that’s pretty much it for now. More info will come as we get closer to the date! Remember gang, if your parents say you can’t come, don’t be a brat about it. Just accept their decision, they are your parents after all, not us! We will have plenty of projects for you to work on through the year.

Thanks all for your time and as usual any questions please contact me, Ghostwriter56!

Hey there! Bunny popping back in with some tips...

1. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. There's definately some walking invovled in New York, and sore feets is not a good thing.

2. Be prepared for both hot and sunny weather and rain. A jacket or umbrella for the latter, and plenty of sunscreen for the former. Last years attendees will tell you about a certain 'Silly Rabbit' who got nice and burned due to a decided lack of forsight. And sunscreen. A hat to shade your face also is a good idea.

3. Keep hydrated. Last year we brought along a cooler with some bottled water. There are places to get water and drinks all around Times Square, and a couple nice, cool stores to duck into if it gets to hot. (And for certain other necessary functions.)

4. Make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before the rally. We start bright and early, and will be out there for a while. It won't be fun if you're tired and cranky.

That's it for the moment. We'll likely add more tips and info as the Rally gets closer.

Hope to see you all there!
